CV-NPSAT Online Tool

Online Central Valley Nonpoint Source Asssessment Tool for simulating groundwater nitrate futures, CV-NPSATweb.

This tool allows users to create their own future nitrate scenarios, run those online, then view the scenario simulation results of historic and future nitrate concentrations in domestic, public supply and irrigation wells. Users make some choices about the modeling tool to be used, the area-of-interest, and how far in the future their scenario shall run, then design their nitrate leaching reduction scenario, submit the scenario to a server (online), and finally view the scenario results. Scenario results demonstrate historic, current, and future nitrate concentration levels across domestic, public supply, and irrigation wells in the area-of-interest. The scenarios may run up to 400 years into the future and the area-of-interest can be part or all of the Central Valley.

The video below provides background on the NPSAT modeling framework and it's Central Valley nitrate implementation; and a hands-on tutorial to the online tool. You can find a downloadable PDF of the slides here.
